Chores even while camping!
Well, all in all, it was fun. Reilly did great, slept great and loved all the outdoors. Emily had fun at the campfire and in the pool...but wasn't a good tent sleeper. I guess she is a little too young for camping. She was okay though...just a little wiped. She finally caught up on sleep today and is back to her old self.
The first night we told spooky stories by the campfire and roasted marshmellows. The girls were really good at coming up with their own stories. It was fun. They went to bed in the tent without us and slept straight through until 7am-8am. Great first night.
The next day we went to the Wisconsin Deer Park. Reilly loved, loved, loved it! Emily loved it too and was so surprisingly brave. Only screamed once (and for all of you that have witnessed her with animals...this is a huge deal. PROGRESS!!!).
Auntie-Kerry joined us...the girls got a real kick out of having her with us. Thanks for coming Kerry! We went to the pool that day. Reilly was jumping in the pool...and yes...so was Emily! They both loved, loved the water and had a ball splashing, swimming with us and being tossed in the air. That night we went to a lame fireworks show...which wiped out the girls...so needless to say that night Emily didn't sleep well and they were starting to get cranky in the morning (so was mom!). So we decided to stick to two nights and head home early. We were able to stop by and say Hello to Nana and Papa at their cottage and we wish we could have stayed...but mom was to tired and distracted. Sorry ;0) Next time!
