This Labor Day weekend we went to Tennessse. The Smoky Mountains. We had a few bumps in the road (Reilly throwing up the first morning and Jim getting bit by a scorpion), but all in all we had a good trip.
We stayed in a log cabin. You can check the exact one out on Cabin Fever Vacations website, under two bedroom cabin rentals. Ours was called the Honey Bear. http://www.cabinfevervacations.com/.
Black bear theme threwout. It was cute.
Jimmy was wonderful. Emily was in heaven. She said her dream was to stay in a log cabin and touch a cloud. She did both. Reilly had a rough time being away from home again...but we muddled through it. We saw some amazing views. I think the Aquarium was everyone's favorite. Jimmy loved, loved the sharks!!!! New obsession for him.
Jimmy though our huge jacuzzi tub was a pool...So we let Emily and Jimmy put on bathingsuits and play a bit. The next day Emily found a lizard in the tub!
When Reilly was sick Jim took Emily and Jimmy hiking to a mini waterfall. He said they did well. So the next night we went on a bigger hike. That one was awesome. I will post more below.
This is a sunset from our balcony.
The next day Reilly felt better and we went "creeking" and "hiking". Jimmy loves to throw rocks in the water.
The Aquarium!
This is the Aquarium we went to if your interested. http://www.ripleyaquariums.com/myrtlebeach/. It was better than the Shedd here in Chicago I think...smaller though. There was an underwater tunnel, a mermaid show, you could touch the crabs and stingrays...We had to go separately due to Reilly being sick...but we all really loved it.
You could pop your head up into a lot of the tanks and even the penguin habitat.
Shark tunnel was the coolest. Sharks swimming right above you and beside you.
We took a gondola ride up one mountain the first night. Reilly was not impressed...that was the day she was sick. Oh well, "suck it up" we told her (but nicely of course).
At the top there was a skating rink, mini amusement mall, and a bear inclosure. This is as close as we got to a bear all weekend...so I also bought the kids each a stuffed black bear ;0). Half of us wanted to see a real bear and the other half did not at all (I am the one that was 50-50).
More to come!!! This takes so long and I am busy so I will try more later this weekend to post...
